As you age, your skin changes. It’s normal and happens to everyone even though none of us want to admit it. While some might suggest you need to turn to Botox, plastic surgery, and other interventions as you age, it can be incredibly rewarding to simply welcome aging skin with grace. The wrinkles of experience, laughter, and love that line your face are beautiful treasures.

THE IMPORTANCE OF CARING FOR YOUR SKIN:

Did you know your skin is actually the largest organ of your body? It acts as a protective barrier and helps with temperature regulation, among other important duties. Here are a few of my favorite recipes to spice up your daily water intake. Having different flavors seems to help me not get bored with it. 

MANGO PEPPERMINT WATER

  • 6-8 small leaves of fresh mint
  • 32 oz water
  • ½ mango, skin removed and cut into pieces
  • 1-2 drops of Peppermint essential oil 

LEMON WATER ELIXER

  • 1 cup room-temperature water
  • Juice of 1 lemon
  • 1 tbsp Raw Apple Cider Vinegar
  • 1tsp raw honey, maple syrup, or stevia to taste (optional)
  • Dash sea salt or Himalayan sea salt  

GRAPEFRUIT ROSEMARY DETOX WATER

  • 1 grapefruit, without the rind
  • 1 sprig of fresh rosemary
  • 1 drop of Lavender essential oil
  • Add 32 ounces of water to this recipe

It is best to use a 32oz glass container.  When you are using essential oils always keep in mind that citrus essential oils are a natural petrochemical detoxifier so you will want to avoid plastics when making your essential oil infused detox water.
