Essential Oils & Fitness

Whether it's a tasty protein shake or a refreshing body spray, essential oils and fitness go together like peanut butter and jelly. And if you haven't started incorporating oils into your daily workout routine, you are seriously missing out! 

Speaking of peanut butter...

Peanut Butter Heaven Protein Shake

  • 1 scoop vanilla meal replacement powder
  • 3/4 cup vanilla almond milk (or other non-fat milk)
  • 1 tablespoon natural peanut butter
  • 1/2 banana
  • 1 cup ice

Mix in blender until smooth and creamy.

Leg Cramp Blend

  • 3-4 drops soothing blend essential oil
  • 3-4 drops lemongrass essential oil
  • 1-2 drops helichrysum essential oil

Mix together and apply directly to affected area.

Post-workout Bath

  • 3 drops lavender essential oil
  • 2 drops roman chamomile essential oil
  • 2 drops marjoram essential oil
  • 1 drop helichrysum essential oil

Add to bath and soak away your soreness.

Sanitizing Spray

  • 1/2 cup water
  • 2-6 drops protective blend essential oil

Add ingredients to a glass spray bottle. Shake well before each use to sanitize your yoga mat, hand weights and after workout equipment.

Post-Workout Rub

  • 1 ounce fractionated coconut oil
  • 3 drops marjoram essential oil
  • 2 drops thyme essential oil
  • 4 drops roman chamomile essential oil
  • 4 drops cypress essential oil
  • 3 drops lemon essential oil
  • 2 drops peppermint essential oil

Mix together and gently massage the mixture into your muscles and joints to prevent stiffness and pain. 

Cellulite Reducing Spray

  • 4 ounces fractionated coconut oil
  • 15ml grapefruit essential oil (one bottle)

Mixed together in a glass spray bottle. After bathing spray on body to reduce the appearance of cellulite.

Refreshing Body Spray

  • 6 drops lime essential oil
  • 2 drops lavender essential oil
  • 2 drops lemon essential oil
  • 1 drop peppermint essential oil

Combine essential oils in a 2-ounce spray bottle and fill with water to refresh yourself in seconds. 

I want to leave you with a couple of my favorite fitness tips. First, to help flush out toxins, add 1-2 drops of lemon essential oil in your water. Second, for a better workout, open your airways before, during or after your workout by inhaling respiration blend essential oil. And finally, for quick relief of leg cramps, apply massage blend essential oil!
